Bus Driver/Job Coach

New Road School of Parlin is looking to hire a Bus Driver/Job Coach for Private Special Ed facility.  Experienced in Special Education population preferred.

Job Description:

• Responsible for transporting students to off-campus sties and back to school
• Provides transportation for local school trips as needed
• Maintains daily log of mileage from school to job site/trips and back
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicl
• Ensure students are seated property and wearing seat belts at all times
• Directs students to maintain safe and appropriate behavior for travel on the bus
• Informs administration of required inspections maintenance appointments and repairs
• Alerts certified staff to any propblem or special information on individual students
• Attends all required staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences
• Other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher/principal/administration
• Accompanies and assista students at the Structured Learning Experiences (SLE) placement
• Reinforces safety rules and procedures with students during travel
• Assists the SLE Coordinator with distruction and collection of Business/Agency Agreements, Site Analyses, and other documentation
• Supports student learning by following the learning goals and objectives outlined in the Student Training Plan
• Supervised student behavior and worth-ethic and reports any problems to the SLE Coordinator
• Maintaints a professional and working relationship with SLE site mentor, fellow job coaches, and other business employees
• Help students complete work related tasks and teaches problem solving skills
• Assures that students return promplty to their classrooms
• Completes SLE Job Coach Evaluations weekly

Requirements:

• Possess a valid NJ issued CDL license Class B or Class C, along with both a Passenger (P) and a School Bus (S) endorsement in order to operate a vehicle to transport 16 or more passengers
• Good driving record
• Take and pass the state required physical examination, agree to drug screening, complete criminal background check to keep CDL license valid

10 month contract during RSY (regular school year) (ESY summer program seperate contract)

Hours 8:30 - 2:30

Hourly rate $29.00

Benefits:

PTO (personal time off) After 90 days the employee with accrue 1 hour of PTO time for every 30 hours worked
