Description POSITION:                                NETWORK SYSTEMS ENGINEER  


SUMMARY:                                The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining , and
                                                    optimizing the district's cloud-based and on premises network infrastructure. This role ensures secure,
                                                    reliable, and scalable technology systems that support instructional, operational, and administrative 
                                                    functions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with IT leadership, educators, and vendors to integrate 
                                                    innovative technology solutions in a K-12 environment. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:                 *Infrastructure & Network Management: Oversee cloud and on premise systems, including Google Cloud,
                                                    Azure, AWS, LAN, WAN, and WiFi networks.
                                                   *Security &Compliance: Implement security measures, monitor threats, and ensure compliance with FERPA,
                                                    CIPA, and COPPA regulations.
                                                   *System Monitoring & Optimization: Use tools to track performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize 
                                                    configurations for reliability and scalability.
                                                   *Technical Support: Provide Tier 3 support for escalated network and cloud-related issues.
                                                   *Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop and maintain backup and recovery plans. Maintain comprehensive
                                                     system documentation.



QUALIFICATIONS:                  *Education & Certifications:
                                                   * Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
                                                   *  Preferred certifications: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Network+/Cloud+
                                                  *Experience
                                                    * 5+ years managing network infrastructure enterprise or education settings.
                                                    *  Experience with virtualization, WiFi, VPN, and hybrid cloud environments.
                                                  *Technical Skills: 
                                                    *Expertise in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and networking protocols (TCP/IP,DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
                                                    *Proficiency with routers, switches, firewalls, security tools
                                                   *Soft Skills:
                                                     * Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management abilities.
                                                     * Effective communication skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
                                                   * Additional Requirements
                                                     *Flexibility to work outside normal hours for major projects or outages
