JOB DESCRIPTION:
Bergen Center for Child Development is celebrating over 50 Years of Excellence by promoting the education and development of children with special needs. Using an interdisciplinary approach to education and designing individual programs according to the developmental level of each student, we develop programs that enhance life experience, self-esteem, and appropriate behavior. We are currently in need of a School Bus Driver with CDL Class B, Passenger (P) and School Bus S endorsements to support our students in their vocational development.
Job Description
Under the guidance of the Community Based Instruction (CBI) - Structured Learning Experience (SLE) Teacher, the School Bus Driver will be responsible for providing transportation and support to students with a range of developmental disabilities to acquire consistent, competitive employment skills. The School Bus Driver must be self-motivated and possess the skills required to work independently with individuals with special needs. The School Bus Driver will transport students into the community and to worksites designed to develop independence and vocational skills.
Qualifications
- Clean driving record
- DDD and DVRS knowledge and experience a plus
- Understanding the concepts of:
- CBI - Community Based Instruction
- SLE - Structured Learning Experience
- WBL - Work Based Learning
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
