Looking for a rewarding summer opportunity outside the traditional classroom? Willow Lake Summer Day Camp is seeking responsible, energetic adults and educators to join our Aquatics Team as Lifeguards & Swim Safety Instructors.

This position is ideal for teachers, paraprofessionals, education students, retirees, and anyone who enjoys working with children in a positive, active environment. Our lifeguards oversee four heated pools and a small waterfront beach while helping campers build confidence and develop their swimming skills.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide structured swim instruction during scheduled swim periods.
  • Supervise recreational swim activities and ensure a safe environment.
  • Maintain constant visual surveillance of all swimmers.
  • Enforce pool rules and established safety procedures.
  • Respond appropriately and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with fellow lifeguards and aquatics leadership.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for campers.

Qualifications

  • Current Lifeguard Certification required prior to June 22, 2026.
  • Experience working with children or in educational settings is preferred but not required.
  • Available Monday through Friday for the full camp season (39 days).
  • Attend mandatory staff training on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a summer camp environment.
  • Dependable, attentive, and committed to maintaining a safe atmosphere.

Schedule & Benefits

  • Camp Season: June 22 – August 14, 2026 (Camp closed July 3)
  • Monday–Friday only
  • No nights or weekends
  • Approximately 40 hours per week
  • Paid even on rainy days
  • Daily lunch provided
  • Transportation available from select towns*
