Salary: Negotiable Daily Rate (3-4 days per week)

The Shamong Township School District, a small-town community dedicated to student success and academic excellence, is seeking a highly qualified Interim Business Administrator/Board Secretary to provide fiscal leadership and operational oversight during this transitional period. The successful candidate will support the district’s mission by ensuring strong financial management, operational efficiency, and compliance with state and federal regulations, all while working collaboratively with the Chief School Administrator and Board of Education.

As a two-school district serving students in Pre-K to 8th grade, Shamong Township School District takes pride in fostering a supportive and innovative educational environment for its students. The Interim Business Administrator will play a critical role in maintaining financial stability and ensuring the smooth operation of district services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide fiscal oversight of the district’s budget, expenditures, and financial planning.
  • Serve as Board Secretary, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities and governance requirements.
  • Oversee finance, payroll, purchasing, buildings and grounds, food services, transportation, and other essential operations.
  • Facilitate long-range financial and capital project planning with district leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with district administration, staff, and the Board of Education to support the goals of the district.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to promote transparency and financial responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New Jersey School Business Administrator Standard Certificate.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in budget preparation, financial reporting, and fiscal planning, referendum.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a small school community focused on student achievement.
