QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must hold a valid New Jersey Teacher Certification (Standard, CEAS, or CE) in specific content area.
2. Effective problem-solving, human relations and communication skills.
3. Working knowledge of New Jersey Department of Education regulations and applicable federal laws.
4. Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate

The teacher understands adolescent development and learner differences, and builds a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where all students can succeed. The teacher uses strong content knowledge to promote critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. The teacher applies effective assessment practices to measure growth, provide feedback, and adjust instruction. The teacher differentiates lessons using varied strategies and resources to deepen understanding for diverse learners. The teacher acts ethically, maintains confidentiality, and complies with all legal and professional responsibilities.
