Description

We are seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and student-centered Physics Teacher to join our high school faculty. The successful candidate will inspire students through engaging, inquiry-based instruction and foster a rigorous learning environment that promotes scientific thinking, problem-solving, and academic excellence. Candidates with experience teaching multiple Advanced Placement Physics courses are strongly preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver effective, standards-aligned instruction in Physics courses.
  • Develop and implement engaging laboratory experiences that emphasize scientific inquiry and data analysis.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Utilize a variety of assessment strategies to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and communication.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
  • Integrate technology and instructional best practices into daily teaching.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, counselors, and parents to support student success.
  • Participate in departmental, school, and district professional development activities.
  • Support extracurricular activities, academic clubs, or related student programs as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Valid New Jersey Teacher of Physics Certificate or eligibility for certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Physical Science, Science Education, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of secondary science curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to equitable educational opportunities for all students.
  • Familiarity with New Jersey Student Learning Standards and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
  • Experience teaching high school physics at multiple academic levels.
  • Experience teaching one or more Advanced Placement Physics courses.
  • Proven record of preparing students for AP examinations and college-level coursework.
