The Edison Public School District is seeking an experienced, innovative and transformative leader to serve as Business Administrator/Board Secretary.  Interested candidates should have a strong background in leadership, business operations, budget development and implementation.  Candidates need to demonstrate experience with managerial oversight on departments including transportation, facilities, food service and payroll.  Candidates should also possess experience in the self-insurance process for medical benefits.

Located in Middlesex County, New Jersey, Edison is home to almost 17,000 students ranging from grades PreK-12. Edison Township Public Schools comprises nineteen schools- two preschools, eleven elementary schools, four middle schools, and two high schools.  


  • Undergraduate and/or graduate training in school business administration or accounting

  • A superior knowledge of financial accounting practices and report procedures consistent with statutory and GAAP requirements

  • Must hold or be eligible for New Jersey School Business Administrator’s certificate

  • CPA Certification Preferred

  • Experience in the accepted practices related to budget preparation and administration, risk management, purchasing, transportation, food service, and facilities operations and planning

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Such other qualifications of academic, professional and personal excellence as the Edison

Township Board of Education may specify



  • Direct the preparation of documents relative to the annual budget, school bonds and state/federal funding programs

  • Direct and oversee the  purchase/bidding process for all supplies/materials/equipment/services purchased by the Board of Education

  • Direct the development/implementation of all fiscal accounts and accounting records of the school district

  • Direct the payroll department and the implementation/maintenance of all payroll-related procedures and records

  • Direct the preparation of all fiscal reports as per local, state and federal requirements

  • Direct the implementation of fiscal procedures and/or control to ensure compliance with budget appropriations

  • Direct and supervise the maintenance of liability, property and student insurance programs

  • Determine annual and long-term budget needs for all areas of responsibility

  • Prepare performance reports for all personnel who report directly to the Business

Administrator/Board Secretary

  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent or designee
