? What You’ll Be Doing
School counseling is all about connection, strategy, and heart. You will work hand-in-hand with students, educators, and families to build a supportive environment where every learner feels heard, valued, and prepared for their next steps.
The Student & College/Career Side
- The Path Finder: Help students discover their unique aptitudes and interests using test data, classroom insights, and one-on-one conversations to build exciting academic and career roadmaps.
- Future Architect: Guide students and families through college admissions, scholarships, trade pathways, and testing (SAT/ACT/AP), connecting them to recruiters, job fairs, and summer opportunities.
- The Transition Guide: Welcome new students with open arms, lead engaging orientation programs, and ensure smooth, confident transitions from grade to grade.
The Support & Team Side
- The Safe Space: Provide a calm, reassuring presence when students face personal setbacks or stress, helping them build resilience and navigate challenges.
- Collaborative Partner: Team up with teachers, administrators, and the Child Study Team to deliver holistic support and carry out individual student plans.
- Family Ally: Maintain open, encouraging communication with parents and guardians, keeping them connected to their child's academic growth and well-being.
