Princeton Public Schools seek an outstanding educational leader to serve as an assistant superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction.
Founded before the American Revolutionary War, Princeton is home of Princeton University, which bears its name and moved to the community in 1756. Although its association with the university is primarily what makes Princeton a college town, other important institutions in the area include the Institute for Advanced Study, Westminster Choir College, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, Princeton Theological Seminary, Opinion Research Corporation, Siemens Corporate Research, Bristol-Myers Squibb, SRI International, FMC Corporation, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and Berlitz International.
Princeton is roughly equidistant from New York City and Philadelphia. It is close to many major highways that serve both cities (e.g., Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 1), and receives major television and radio broadcasts from each. Centrally located within the Raritan Valley region, Princeton is a regional commercial hub for the Central New Jersey region. As of the 2010 US Census, the municipality’s population was 28,572.

The assistant superintendent shall have demonstrated experience as an Assistant Superintendent of C&I or comparable position; Hold or be eligible for a Certificate of Eligibility for a Chief School Administrator’s Certificate in accordance with the requirements of New Jersey; Must possess NJ Principal/Supervisor successful experience in teaching, curriculum development, and/or school administration. Strong knowledge base and skills in curriculum, instruction, staff development and use of data for decision-making. Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ability to motivate staff.
Demonstrate ability to work effectively in the areas of personnel management, organizational leadership, and supervision of programs and staff. Three (3) year of demonstrated success as a Building Principal, Central Office Administrator, or Program Director; doctorate preferred. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing using proper grammar and vocabulary.
Salary: In the range of $175,00; subject to qualifications, experience, and negotiations
Start date: No later than July 1, 2022, or if available sooner.
