Director of Communications:

Job Duties: Perform the duties of a public relations advisor and other duties as determined by the Head of School. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Publish the electronic newsletter with daily announcements to families. Review and distribute staff communications from administration to current families. Respond to parent emails and replies to announcements and mass emails promptly and courteously.
  • Regularly update the school website by posting news, updating photos, reviewing content for accuracy, removing outdated material, updating the school calendar using Google Calendar, adding the lunch menu, and uploading documents or creating forms as needed. Coordinate website redesigns or updates as necessary.
  • Coordinate with the Development/Alumni Office to handle email and SMS communications for donor engagement, event promotion, and major events like the Golf Outing and Day of Giving. Publish the monthly alumni newsletter using content provided by the Alumni Director.
  • Manage social media pages and strategy, and create content for the school’s official Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and Athletic Department social media accounts. Collaborate with students and staff to produce, record, and edit social media content. Ensure all content published by OP is licensed for use and complies with music/photo licensing laws.
  • Attend various school events, including evening and weekend, to photograph and facilitate programs.
  • Maintain the Photo Archive Shared Google Drive to ensure a continuous photographic history of the school. Coordinate with the Yearbook Moderator and external photographers to gain access to all photo libraries and back up images to the Photo Archive.
  • Serve as the school’s primary designer, creating new designs as needed for Development, Admissions, Athletics, and other departments. Collaborate with outside print vendors to ensure print-ready designs meet requirements. Adhere to the existing brand guidelines for school logos, colors, and font usage.
  • Monitor the general email inbox (info@oratoryprep.org) and ensure all inquiries are answered accurately and promptly. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
  • Salary range:  $80-100k
