PARAPROFESSIONAL/INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE

Full-time Position:  Available September 1st

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 60 Credits or Paraprofessional Certification (REQUIRED)
  • Ability to be confidential with sensitive information
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students
  • Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class under the direction of designated certified staff
  • Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, and on field trips
  • Attend to students' physical, academic, and emotional needs
  • Provide encouragement and support to students with special needs by following provisions specified in their educational plans
  • Promote achievement of students’ educational goals and learning objectives by providing supplemental services to assist the classroom teacher
  • Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration

Reports to:

Reports directly to the Child Study Team Director and Chief School Administrator.

Requirements:

Criminal history background check

New Jersey Resident

Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

Mantoux/TB test

Minimum 60 Credits or Paraprofessional Certification

Salary Range:

$35,062 to $45,253 (Commensurate with experience)

Education:

It explicitly prohibits such employers from hiring a person serving in a position which involves regular contact with students unless the employer conducts a review of the employment history of the applicant by contacting former and current employers and requesting information regarding child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations.
