Funded by the NJDOE Middle Grades Career Awareness and Exploration Grant
Per Diem rate of $300/day, not to exceed the budgeted amount of 120 days.
One of the following certifications is preferred: Student Assistance Counselor, School Counselor, or Licensed Social Work Certification.
The Middle School Career Counselor will be responsible to cultivate the development of innovative career awareness and exploration programs focused on engaging career-focused instruction and unique experiences for students in the middle grades. Responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting class lessons to support and expand career guidance, to create and implement thematic career units of study, communicate with the entire school community, provide staff development, assist students with the initial creation of their individualized education and career plans, develop, plan and run an ASPIRE Career Fair, facilitate visits to post-secondary institutions, vocational schools or local corporations through field trips, as well as any other tasks associated with the fulfillment of the grant.
