Description Summary:
The Instructional Technology Facilitator serves as a bridge between educators and technology, supporting the effective integration of digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning across K-12 classrooms. This position combines educational expertise with technical knowledge to empower teachers and improve student outcomes through technology-enhanced instruction.

Responsibilities:

Technology Support and Professional Development

  • Design and deliver professional development workshops on educational technology tools, digital learning platforms, and innovative teaching strategies
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and support to teachers in implementing technology-enhanced lessons
  • Model effective technology integration strategies through classroom demonstrations and co-teaching opportunities
  • Create instructional resources and documentation to support teachers' technology implementation

Technology Integration Planning

  • Evaluate and recommend educational technology tools and resources for classroom use that align with state standards
  • Assist in creating digital learning environments that promote student engagement and achievement
  • Proficient in educational technology and AI to ensure that staff are knowledgeable on instructional technology

Technical Support and Management

  • Oversee the management of the district's instructional technology infrastructure
  • While not a networking specialist, the IT facilitator works closely with the technology department to ensure that all hardware and software are functioning correctly and that any technical issues are resolved promptly
  • Oversees the onboarding of new instructional technology products, including coordinating initial implementation with appropriate district administrator

Leadership and Program Management

  • Monitor emerging educational technology trends and best practices to keep the district current
  • Coordinate with IT staff to ensure technical requirements for educational initiatives are met
  • Track and report on technology integration effectiveness and impact on student learning

Budget and Resource Management

  • Prepare and manage the budget for the instructional technology department
  • This includes making recommendations for new technology purchases, working with vendors to procure quotes and complete all purchasing, and ensuring that all resources are used efficiently

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in instructional technology integration in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of current educational technology tools and resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Experience in providing professional development and training to educators.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate technology tools and their effectiveness in supporting learning objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with digital literacy standards and best practices for technology use in education.
  • Passion for enhancing teaching and learning through innovative technology solutions.

Salary: $32,000 - $50,000

Includes participation in the New Jersey State Pension System

This is not a benefits eligible position.
