LEAP Academy University Charter School is seeking an experienced, highly qualified, passionate and dedicated Instructional Supervisor, Mathematics that reports to the Chief Academic Officer. LEAP’s Instructional Supervisor of Mathematics leads the development, organization, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of instructional programs; grades K-12. This Supervisor is required to ensure that students meet and exceed the State Learning Curriculum Content Standards through working collaboratively to lead and nature the Mathematics team members, communicate effectively with parents, the community, and colleagues within the district schools.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Work collectively with Principals, Academic Leadership, and team members to ensure the coordination of instructional programs and services within the district (elementary and secondary levels) are administrated uniformly and equitably;
- Plan, organize, implement, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate programs within the Core Curriculum Content Standards:
- Responsible for applying for grants and monitoring grant programs and budgets;
- Utilizing data to identify and analyze student and instructional needs;
- Recommend and recommending the purchasing of instructional materials and equipment;
- Coordinate school and community resources for students with specialized needs;
- Review instructional and grading policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency across grade levels;
- Responsible for timely response to all correspondence, report requests, and records;
- Attend all necessary meetings on and off-site; representing LEAP in a professional manner;
- Ensuring compliance with all state and federal educational and childcare safety mandates;
- Establish and maintain a professional rapport and visibility among team members, student, parents, and partnering affiliates;
- Protect confidentiality of records and information gained; using discretion in sharing within legal confines.
Personnel
- Responsible for recruitment, supervision, professional development, and performance evaluations of Mathematics Department team members.
- Selection, promotion, assignment, and orientation of team members;
- Regularly evaluating lesson plans and observe classrooms; providing effective feedback;
- Develop/Coordinate/Implement professional development outcomes, practices, and strategies – assessing effectiveness.
All other duties as assigned as by the Chief Academic Officer.
Education & Qualifications:
- Hold a Master’s Degree; with a minimum of five years teaching and administrative experience;
- Hold a NJ state teacher certification with supervisor endorsement (New Jersey Standard Certificate in Mathematics, Certificate of Eligibility (CE) or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) or be eligible for reciprocity with an out-of-state certificate);
- Ability work under a 12-month contract;
- Has proven leadership skills and demonstration of curriculum development, effective instructional strategies.
Physical Requirements:
Constant standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, speaking loudly and clearly, seeing and hearing things both near and far away, stooping, kneeling, fine finger and hand manipulation in use of a computer, chalkboard, dry erase board or projector, repetitive hand and arm motion.
