Saint Vincent Academy, student-centered Spanish World Language Teacher to join our faculty for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will foster a love of language and culture while creating an engaging, supportive classroom environment for students in Spanish I–IV. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, collaboration, and the mission of a Catholic college-preparatory school for young women.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach Spanish I-IV courses using communicative and proficiency-based instructional practices
- Develop engaging lesson plans that promote listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills
- Integrate Hispanic cultures, traditions, and authentic resources into instruction
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Maintain an organized, positive, and respectful classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and interdisciplinary opportunities
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administrators
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school community activities
- Serve as moderator for a school club
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, World Languages, Education, or a related field required
- Valid teaching certification preferred
- Fluency in Spanish and English required
- Experience teaching secondary-level Spanish preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to supporting the educational and spiritual mission of a Catholic school
