World Language Teacher - Spanish
David Brearley High School
Full-time 10-Month Tenure-Track Position
Starting Salaries: Step 1BA - $ 73,699 and Step 1MA - $81,804
 
QUALIFICATIONS:    
1. Valid NJDOE Instructional Certificate with appropriate endorsement in Spanish (K–12).
2. Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies for teaching Spanish at the high school level, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency.
3. Strong command of the Spanish language, including grammar, vocabulary, and cultural context, with the ability to deliver engaging, standards-based instruction.
4. Ability to create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment that supports diverse learners.
5. Effective classroom management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
6. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
7. Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L.2011, Chapter 70).
 

REPORTS TO: DBHS Principal 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Terms of tenure track positions per collective bargaining agreement. Starting salaries: Step 1BA - $ 73,699 and Step 1MA - $81,804
The employee is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.
The position is eligible for additional compensation in the form of stipends or tuition reimbursement based on district policy.
