Italian Teacher

Mount Saint Mary Academy in Watchung, NJ is seeking a full-time Italian teacher starting September 2022.  Some teaching experience is preferred. The candidate will teach Italian levels 1-4 and AP Italian, including some mixed college preparatory and honors courses.  We seek a teacher who can teach the language actively with a focus on spoken and written communication.  The hired teacher will cultivate considerate appreciation of Italian culture and perspective. The teacher will nurture excitement about and motivate global citizenship.  Ability to teach another language, such as Spanish or French, is a plus!

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree (preferred) in Italian or related field
  • Demonstrated fluency in Italian
  • Ability to teach Spanish or French is a plus!
  • Experience in appropriate technologies which enhance language learning
  • Experience with CI and other active teaching methods preferred
  • Skills/talents that can contribute to extracurricular activities and/or coaching a sports team
