About the District
The Runnemede School District is a vibrant, community-centered Preschool through 8th-grade district located in
Camden County, New Jersey. Serving approximately 800 students across three schools, our district is deeply
committed to academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and fostering a supportive environment where every child
can thrive. We feed into the Black Horse Pike Regional School District for grades 9–12.
The Opportunity
The Runnemede Board of Education is seeking a visionary, highly collaborative, and student-centric leader to serve
as our next Superintendent. The ideal candidate will be a champion for early childhood and middle-level education,
possessing a unique blend of deep instructional leadership and exceptional fiscal acumen.
We need a leader who will maintain our high academic standards through continuous curricular innovation while
navigating the complexities of New Jersey school finance to maximize every dollar for our classrooms.
Key Qualifications & Responsibilities
1. Academic & Curricular Leadership
- Curriculum Alignment & Evolution: Lead the ongoing review, development, and implementation of a rigorous,date-informed PK-8 curriculum aligned with New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS)
- Early Childhood Expertise: Sustain and optimize our high-quality preschool expasionprogram, ensuring a seamless transition into elememntary and middle school grades
- Articulated Growth: Collaborate closely with the regional high school district to ensure our 8th-grade graduates are exceptionally well-prepared for high school honors, advanced placement, and career tracks.
- Professional Development: Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by providing staff with targeted, high-impact professional development focused on modern instructional stragegies.
2. Financial Acument & Resource Management
- Strategic Budgeting: Oversee the development of a transparent, student-first annual budget that aligns district resources with strategic educational goals
- Fiscal Efficiency: Demonstrate a proven track record of creative problem-solving regarding state aid fluctuations, maximizing shared services, and successfully pursuing grant opportunities
- Facilities & Operations: ensure the efficient operation and long-term maintenance of district facilities providing safe, modern, and healthy learning environments.
3. Community & Culture
- Visible Engagement: Maintain a high level of visibility in the schools and across the Runnemede community, building strong partnerships with parents, local government, and community organizations.
- Transparent Communication: Act as an accessible, clear communicator who can synthesize complex educational and finanacial data for the Board of education and the public
- Collaborative Governance: Work in close, trusted partnership with the Board of Education to execute the district's strategic plan and governance policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- New Jersey School Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility (CE) required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of successful central office administrative experience (Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent or Business Administrator/Director level preferred); Principal experience strongly considered
- Strong background in PK-8 curriculum developmnet, instructional design, and data-driven instruction.
- Demonstrated experience with New Jersey school finance, QSAC monitoring, and state funding formulas
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience (range: $175,000 - $205,000), adhering to New Jersey statutory regulations and guidelines. A comprehensive benefits package will be provided.
