The Board of Education invites applications from qualified candidates for the following position:
2026/27 SCHOOL YEAR
Position: ESL (English as a Second Language) Teacher - Leave Replacement (Full Year)
Effective date: September 1st 2026 - June 30th, 2027
Reports To: Director of Special Services, Principal / Superintendent
Nature and Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Special Services and Principal / Superintendent, the ESL Teacher will be responsible for providing a comprehensive educational program to meet the needs of each student. This includes implementing English Language Development (ELD) programs, facilitating an inclusive learning environment, and fostering communication and collaboration with parents, other educators, and service providers.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in differentiated instruction, and experience with the SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) model.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Teacher of English as a Second Language certificate OR NJ Bilingual / Bicultural Education Certification.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
- Knowledge and understanding of the social, emotional, and academic needs of Multilingual Learners.
- The ability to build positive and effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Required Criminal History Check.
- Provide proof of US citizenship or legal Resident Alien status by completing Federal Form I-9.
- Pass required State Mantoux/Tuberculin test and physical exam as required.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Salary:
Salary range: $57,410 – $80,300
Compensation is in accordance with the negotiated agreement between the Bradley Beach Board of Education and the Bradley Beach Education Association, based on relevant credentials and prior experience.
