DIRECTOR OF BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
Works in conjunction with, and under the direction of, the School Business Administrator to oversee and manage the daily operations and maintenance requirements of the district. Has the overall responsibility to recommend, plan for, review and monitor all district operational and maintenance projects, including all capital projects. This includes the overall supervision and monitoring of all district facilities for health, safety, accessibility, and compliance with federal, state and local code requirements.
Must have a current NJDOE Certified Educational Facilities Manager certificate (CEFM). Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in school facility maintenance and custodial operations, or an equivalent mix of maintenance and custodial experience of large corporate facilities, including school maintenance experience. A general knowledge of construction, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry, including a general knowledge of building codes, state and federal OSHA and environmental codes is required. Additionally, a minimum of ten years of experience in direct supervision of custodial and maintenance personnel is preferred.
