Employment Category: Full-time, Exempt 12 month position.

General Duties:    The Assistant Director of Community Schools will work closely with key leaders across the Community Charter School of Paterson to help lead the expansion of support services for students and families as a full-service community school. The Assistant Director will assume the professional responsibility for providing learning experiences in the Expanded Learning Time programs at the CCSP in a supportive and positive climate that develops in each student the skills, attitudes and knowledge to succeed in the 21st Century. Achieving excellence requires that the Assistant Director report to the Director of Community Schools and work collaboratively with the Community Schools team including the Parent Engagement Coordinator, 21st CCLC Program Coordinator, school staff and parents. The Assistant Director will take the lead in developing the Before Care program for all grades and the Afterschool, Saturday, and Summer programs for Kindergarten through 8th Grade. 

Requirements: 1) Bachelor's degree (Required).
                         2) Master's Degree in Non-Profit (Preffered)
                         3) 3 Years of Programing Experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Responsibilities:

  1. Ability to create outstanding academic achievement and student character development.

  2. Create a positive, achievement-oriented and structured learning environment that excites and invests students.

  3. Motivate students to realize high academic and behavioral standards.

  4. Utilize data from CCSP’s student assessments to drive instruction and intervention.

  5. Exemplify CCSP’s core values in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues.

  6. Ensure that all special education-related services are meeting standards-driven Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) during Before School, Afterschool, Saturday, and Summer programs.

  7. Support staff professional learning, development, and growth

  8. Collaborate with Director, Building Leaders and school team to improve instructional, culture-building and leadership skills.

 Administrative Responsibilities:
  1. Manage department logistics including, but not limited to, student registration, fee collections, parent/student correspondence, employee documentation, attendance, and assignments.

  2. Assist with the development and implementation of all community events and workshops.

  3. Maintain the Community Schools data collection system and files.

  4. Manage partner and vendor relations including, but not limited to, contracts, MOUs, service documentation, and payments.

  5. Supervise and support AmeriCorps members.
