Work to achieve New Jersey Learning Standards and district educational goals and objectives by promoting active learning in the classroom using board-adopted curriculum and other appropriate learning activities
Develop individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
Set specific objectives through lesson preparation, and carry through the presentation to effectively achieve these objectives
- Monitor students' academic progress and personal growth toward stated objectives of instruction and behavioral improvement plans.
- Effectively communicate standards and progress with parents regularly.
Maintain productive relationships with parents and other staff members
Maintain records of students' educational and behavioral progress in the Powerschool system and summarize as appropriate
Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and resolving learning problems
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a classroom climate conducive to learning
Maintain professional competence and pursue continuous improvement through in-service education and other professional growth activities
Participate in school-level planning, faculty meetings/committees, and other school system groups
Make effective use of community resources to enhance the instructional program
Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations and board policy
Perform other duties within the scope of employment and certification as may be assigned by district administration
Requirements and Qualifications
NJ Teaching Certificate for Middle School with Subject Matter Specialization in Math, Special Education, World Language, Sign Language, are required.

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities
Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
Criminal history background check and Proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status required.
