Part-time

20 hours per week

$25/hour 

Location: Morristown or Princeton, NJ (remote during COVID) 

 

ABOUT GOOD GRIEF

Good Grief’s mission is to build resilience in children, strengthen families, and empower communities to grow from loss and adversity. Since our founding in 2004, the foundation of our work is the understanding that grief is a universal human experience that serves a purpose by helping us rebuild our lives and adapt after tragedy. Good Grief equips people to face grief and other adversity from the start by giving them tools they can use for the remainder of their lives. Our programs reduce isolation, teach resilience, create a safe environment for people to remember and share their grief story, and develop a sense of possibility and hopefulness for the future. 

 

In 2017, Good Grief launched a new and comprehensive approach to grief education focused on the environments that have the greatest impact on children and their families – classrooms, homes, communities, and places of employment. As part of this expansion, we introduced a new program to serve the needs of youth in selected urban communities and a school-based curriculum called Routes to Resilience that teaches students in grades K-12 social and emotional skills to face and endure adversity. In 2020, Routes to Resilience became part of a larger offering, Good Grief Schools, which takes a comprehensive approach to helping children build resilience to overcome loss and adversity in their lives. Good Grief Schools consists of four programs developed specifically to create a healthy and supportive environment for students, educators, and parents.

 

ABOUT THE POSITION

Good Grief is seeking a highly mission-focused individual to join its team. The School Partnerships Manager is responsible for the cultivation and care of relationships with schools through our Good Grief Schools (GGS) program. This individual will work with the Director of Education to expand the GGS program through the cultivation of new partnerships, and the management of existing partners to ensure high engagement and satisfaction. This individual will be responsible for leading efforts to increase community awareness around the GGS program, engage prospective schools, formalize partnerships, and aid in the overall expansion of GGS. The School Partnership Manager will display professional interpersonal skills, an in-depth understanding of GGS, and have experience working within the education system. This individual will be familiar with sales and/or the development of new partners.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivating relationships with prospective schools
  • Present Good Grief Schools offerings to potential partners
  • Support the onboarding and implementation with GGS partners
  • Track and report GGS data
  • Aid in GGS overall growth and revenue

CULTIVATING SCHOOL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Cultivating relationships with prospective schools to support the expansion of GGS.
    • Identify, solicit, and secure GGS partnerships with public, charter, and private schools and districts.
    • Attend conferences, meetings, and other key events to present information related to the GGS program.

SUPPORTING SCHOOL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Support the onboarding of new partners through coordination and communication of all training, online access, and site visit needs.
    • Assist the Director of Education with coordinating partnership onboarding, professional development training sessions, site visits, and virtual platform access.
  • Support current GGS school partner administrators, faculty, and stakeholders to successfully implement the GGS program.
    • Build trusting relationships with district leadership, principals, cross-sector leaders, and community stakeholders.
    • Manage partnership agreement logistics, data, processes, and collateral.
    • Coordinate the annual renewal of school partnership agreements and invoicing.
    • Assist Operations with the tracking of invoices until payments are finalized.

TRACKING AND REPORTING DATA

  • Properly track and report on key metrics and data related to GGS partnership and cultivation and management through CRM and related software.

AIDING IN PROGRAM GROWTH

  • Aid in the overall growth of the GGS program and its revenue streams through school fees, individual donors, and grants.
  • Help identify new regions and markets for GGS programming
  • Coordinate with the Director of Education to recommend adaptations and changes to the program based on understanding the needs of schools.

  

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-5 years’ experience within the field of education
  • Able to work both independently and as an engaged member of the team in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated record of cultivating relationships
  • Strong professional presence and interpersonal skills in all interactions
  • Ability to self-manage the sales cycle from prospect to partner
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office and CRM software
    • Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, as needed
  • Occasional travel between centers and for GGS school partner meetings
