About the Academy

Student Athlete Academy (SAA) is an innovative, college-prep academic and athletic institution designed to support high-performing student-athletes on and off the court. Our academic program emphasizes mastery, critical thinking, and real-world application with small class sizes, collaborative projects, and personalized instruction.

Position Overview

SAA is looking for passionate educators who know their subject, connect well with students, and thrive in flexible learning environments. Ideal candidates are tech-savvy, dependable, and comfortable teaching in different formats. If you love helping motivated student-athletes learn and grow, we’d love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities
    •    Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons for grades 6–9
    •    Differentiate instruction to meet varied learning styles & academic profiles
    •    Track and assess student progress using formative & summative assessments
    •    Provide thoughtful academic feedback to students and families
    •    Support skill development in reading comprehension, writing, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, scientific literacy, and/or social-historical analysis (depending on subject)
    •    Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and student success
    •    Maintain classroom culture, expectations, and routines that align with academy values
    •    Contribute to curriculum development & progress monitoring
    •    Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and parent communications
    •    Support student-athletes in balancing academic and athletic commitments
    •    Implement accommodations for learners when appropriate (IEP/504/ELL etc.)

Qualifications
    •    Bachelor’s degree preferred; Master’s (Education or Subject-Specific field)
    •    Certification helpful but not required depending on role
    •    Experience teaching grades 6–9 strongly preferred
    •    Strong classroom management & communication skills
    •    Comfort with blended and technology-enhanced instruction
    •    Ability to differentiate instruction for advanced and developing learners
    •    Growth-focused mindset and passion for youth development

    •    Mission-driven and aligned with SAA academic + athletic culture
    •    Ability to engage student-athletes in high-expectation environments
    •    Collaborative and open to feedback
    •    Creative, adaptive, and solutions-oriented
    •    Experience with project-based learning, mastery-based grading, or small-class settings a plus

SAA offers multiple faculty models:
    •    In-Person (On-Campus)
    •    Hybrid (On-Campus + Remote)
    •    Virtual (Fully Remote)

Flexible scheduling options are considered based on experience, availability, and subject load.
