Union County TEAMS Charter School Position: High School Science Teacher – Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science Location: 9–12 Campus, Plainfield, NJ Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Position Start Date: September 2025
Reports To: High School Principal & Vice Principal
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Science (Grades 9–12)
Knowledge of lab safety protocols and scientific inquiry methods
Familiarity with NJSLS Science Standards and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Experience in high school science instruction preferred
Job Summary: The Science Teacher will create engaging, hands-on learning experiences in Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Plan and deliver science lessons aligned with NGSS and district curriculum
Design and supervise safe, engaging laboratory experiments
Differentiate instruction for diverse learners
Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction
Integrate technology and real-world applications into science learning
Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation
