About Us: Pope John XXIII High School is seeking a motivated and skilled Technology Support Specialist to join our team and help ensure the smooth operation of our technology resources, focusing primarily on Chromebook repairs and classroom tech support.
Job Description: As a Technology Support Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Chromebooks and addressing various classroom technology issues. Your role will be crucial in supporting our teachers and students in their daily tech needs, ensuring a seamless educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair Chromebook hardware and software issues.
- Provide timely technical support to teachers and students for classroom technology.
- Manage and maintain an inventory of Chromebooks and other tech equipment.
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of classroom technology, including projectors, interactive whiteboards, and other AV equipment.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement and maintain school-wide technology initiatives.
- Train staff and students on the proper use and care of technology equipment.
- Document and track support requests using the school's ticketing system.
- Stay current with emerging technology trends and best practices in educational technology.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in diagnosing and repairing Chromebook hardware and software issues.
- Strong understanding of classroom technology and AV equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in an educational environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education is a plus.
