ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
 
 
Responsibilities
  • Administer all school programs consistent with district goals and objectives
  • Develop, implement and communicate the school’s vision and mission, in conjunction with the district’s goals and objectives
  • Leads the school’s instructional and curricular programs through supervisory and evaluative measures;
  • Manage all hiring processes in the school by outlining staffing needs, conducting interviews and checking references, and making recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools
  • Reviews all lesson plans, conducts classroom walkthroughs, facilitates common planning sessions, operates faculty meetings and parent training or work sessions, and serves as the administrative liaison to the school’s PTO
  • Administers all school operations including but not limited to special programs, co- and extra-curricular activities, support and guidance services, health services, safety procedures, custodial and maintenance activities, and cafeteria services
  • Responsible for ordering of furniture, supplies, and textbooks in support of the instructional program;
  • Collaborates with the district’s Chief Technology Officer to ensure that the school has the technology needed to meet 21st century learning standards
  • Facilitate onsite professional development and recommend off-site workshops and training to enhance instruction, programs, and student achievement
  • Lead in the implementation of the school’s Emergency Management and Crisis Manual including the practicing of safety drills and submission of required reports
  • Submit the school’s monthly report and lead in the collection and analysis of attendance, HIB, EVVRS, Health Office operations, and student achievement data
  • Ensure that RTI services and the I&RS process are aligned and implemented effectively
  • Manage all scheduling, arrival and dismissal procedures, and lunch/recess activities
  • Develop the school’s student handbook in order to clearly present processes and protocols related to programs and for maintaining high standards for a safe school environment and positive school climate and culture
  • Supervise all staff members in the school building and conduct external observations if assigned by the Superintendent
  • Lead in the success of all on-site afterschool activities and programs by overseeing the implementation and coordination of such activities and programs
  • Manage the coordination and supervision of local, state and federally funded programs
  • Oversee front office operations, parental communications, and public relations associated with the school
  • Ensure that all Board of Education policies and procedures and HEA Contract requirements are implemented and followed with fidelity
  • Manage the school’s SGO and SGP processes and all related submissions and record keeping
  • Construct the school’s budget in consultation with the Business Administrator and manage day to day fiscal operations of the school
  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Principal or Superintendent

Requirements & Qualifications
  • NJ Principal Certificate or eligibility
  • 5 or more years teaching experience
  • Prior supervisory, administration, coordinator or dean of student experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in the areas of curriculum development, program evaluation, staff development and school improvement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Criminal history background check
  • Proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status

Compensation
