12 Month Assistant Principal (Grades 9-12)/Athletic Director (Grades 6-12)

Approximate starting salary range based on experience: ($107,000- $112,000) - Approximate Start Date: August 1, 2022

Primary Function: The Assistant Principal/Athletic Director will be responsible for shared instructional leadership in grades 9-12 with the high school administrative team, implementation of the district's discipline code for assigned grades, and the development and supervision of the district’s interscholastic athletic program in accordance with Board Policy and the guidelines of the N.J.S.I.A.A.
Required Certification:
? Principal Certificate or School Administrator Certificate
Preferred Experience:
? Administrative experience preferred
Primary Performance Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
? Demonstrate leadership in the organization and administration of a district-level athletic program.
? Ability to maintain a positive learning environment and high standards of conduct for students.
? Effective project-management, problem-solving, organizational, human relations, and written and verbal communication skills.
? Ability to work effectively with staff, parents, community members and students to maintain and strengthen sound human relations for the improvement of the school program.
? Prepare and administer the athletic budget and supervise the school’s finances.
? Oversee the academic program, indirectly for all staff, and directly for assigned departments, including collaborative management of resources and oversight of instruction.
? Observe assigned staff on the Danielson rubric, following the district process, and provide targeted feedback for instructional growth.
? Implement the discipline policy for assigned grades, ensuring cohesion and equity with other administrators, and with the goal of infusing restorative practices.
? Help manage and implement a school-wide PBIS for all students and support interventions at all levels.
? Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and students both informally and through weekly staff and family communication.
