ESL/Spanish Teacher

Full-Time ESL/Spanish Teacher

The Franklin Township School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated dually certified Teacher of ESL and Teacher of Spanish to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, inspire students, and promote academic excellence. 

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to various learning styles.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Assess student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student development and address any academic or behavioral concerns.
• Stay current with educational best practices and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.

   

Requirements

• New Jersey Department of Education ESL Teaching Certification and Teacher of Spanish required
• Previous teaching experience in a classroom setting is preferred but not mandatory; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong foundational background knowledge in Spanish required.
• Strong collaborative, planning and performance assessment skills.
• Knowledgeable in a variety of teaching strategies and a demonstrated ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural, diverse community.
• Experience working in self-contained and/or in-class support preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to manage classroom dynamics and foster a positive learning atmosphere.
• Proficiency in using technology as an educational tool is advantageous.
• Required criminal history background check
• Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
• Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment

   

Job Type:

• Full-Time.
• September 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027.

Benefits:

• Medical, Dental and Prescription
• Salary as per the QEA -  Range $60,900 - $72,000 (based on degree level)
