Superintendent of Schools

The Jackson Township Board of Education is seeking a visionary, student-centered leader committed to superior student achievement, sound fiscal management and meaningful community engagement to guide our district through an ever-changing educational landscape.

The Superintendent serves as the district's chief executive officer, providing educational leadership and administrative direction for a geographically large and diverse school system. The Jackson School District has eight schools, including a 2,400-student comprehensive high school, and serves approximately 7,000 students in Preschool through Grade 12. We operate our own fleet of more than 150 school vehicles. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and collaborative leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership focused on student achievement and continuous improvement
• Implement and monitor the Board of Education's policies and strategic goals
• Oversee all instructional, operational, financial, and personnel functions of the district
• Develop and manage a fiscally responsible budget aligned with district priorities
• Foster a positive district culture that supports staff development and retention
• Build strong relationships with families, staff, community organizations, and governmental partners
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations
• Serve as the district's primary spokesperson and advocate
• Lead long-range planning for facilities, enrollment, and academic programming across the district
   

Desired Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Superintendent Certification
• Earned doctorate or master's degree
• Successful experience as a superintendent or senior-level district administrator, preferably in a large district
• Demonstrated record of improving student outcomes
• Strong financial management and budgeting experience
• Proven ability to lead administrative teams and engage stakeholders effectively

• Experience working collaboratively with a Board of Education

   

A competitive salary (range $200,000-$250,000) and benefits package will be offered, commensurate with experience and aligned with New Jersey State regulations.
