Overview

For over 43 years, Alphabets has provided high quality preschool programs for children ages 3-5. Serving nutritious and delicious meals to the children is just one of the many ways we develop healthy, happy kids!

Qualifications

• High school diploma or college level
• At least one year experience in food preparation/cooking
• Excellent reading and writing skills
• Must work well with others
• Must be able to interact/communicate with children, parents, office staff and teachers in a friendly manner with a positive attitude
• Must successfully pass background/fingerprint checks
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
• Must be dependable and reliable
• Must be able to read recipes
• Must be able to handle measurements of ingredients to keep us in line with the Federal Food Program who funds us

Job Duties

• Preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack daily for 60 children
• Cleanup and maintenance of kitchen and all food prep and storage areas
• Ordering of supplies and meal components needed to prepare the meals
• Serving the meals to the children by bringing it on trays to the classrooms. This involves going up a flight of stairs
• ServSafe Certification preferred
• Ensure children’s safety by maintaining, documenting and tracking food allergies to children daily with every food serving
