The Forum School, an NJDOE Approved Private School for Students with Disabilities, located in Waldwick, NJ, is seeking a dynamic educational leader with a special education background for the 2026-2027 School Year. We serve approximately 85 students with autism, communication challenges, and emotional regulation impairment ages 5-21. This is a 12-month position with educational programming running September-June, with an ESY Program the month of July. Preferred candidates would possess TOH/TOSD certification, in addition to their Principal certificate. Candidates available to begin prior to July 1 to overlap with current Principal should apply.
Candidates should possess the following skills: great oral/written communication skills, ability to work well with others in a "team environment", strong knowledge of behavior management, training in crisis management, working knowledge of RealTime data management systems, knowledge of NJ Curricular Standards and State Assessments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversight, including hiring/assignment, of teaching assistants
- PLC oversight
- Discipline
- District Test Coordinator
- Incident Response
- Creating/Maintaining Master Schedule
- Coordination/Oversight of Student Teachers/Interns/Volunteers
- Planning and Overseeing ESY Program
- Conducting Training for School Safety and Security Drills, Maintaining Drill Log
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the building in Director's absence
- Supporting all areas of classroom instruction/management
- Approving and maintaining field trip calendar
- Teacher and TA evaluations
- Coordinating Professional Development Programs with Supervisor of Instruction
Salary range $100,000-$125,000. Includes full benefits (health, vision, dental, life/LTD), paid sick time and personal days.
