Description The North Plainfield School District, a culturally diverse school district in Somerset County serving 3,400 students Pre-K through grade 12, seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative professional for the position of Assistant Business Administrator.   

Qualifications Include:
1. School Business Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility
2. B.S. or B.A, in business administration, accounting, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university. 
3 School experience preferred, Minimum two years accounting or auditing experience 
4. Excellent Office Suite and Google skills, familiar with Systems 3000.

Responsibilities Include:
1. Prepare annual encumbrances (payroll, utilities, fixed charges, etc.) and periodically update them.
2. Schedule and disburse payment of bond and interest indebtedness. 
3.Oversees the proper issuance of purchase orders through Systems 3000, and forwarding to vendors in accordance with State accounting procedures and the district financial policies. 
4.Prepares detailed bill lists and monthly reports for the Board Finance Committee and monthly Board meetings. 
5.Prepares checks for disbursement and mailing.
6. Coordinates and compiles all necessary data in developing the district's annual budget
7. Monitor fiscal congruence between Board Minutes and payroll, purchasing and accounts payable activities.
8. Prepare monthly and year-end expenditure/cash disbursement reports. Distribute fiscal reports to administrators.
9. Verify accuracy of annual and quarterly payroll reports
10. Perform fiscal grant management activities in support of categorical programs. Ensure timely cash flow from 
grantors. 
11. Coordinate closing of books at fiscal year-end. Reconcile outstanding purchase orders and reserve accounts 
to actual commitments. Verify that receipts and disbursements agree with fiscal records.
12. Maintain financial history files and prepare budgetary projections
13. Establish and maintain computerized budget files. Verify accuracy of prior and current year.
14. Complete the history and current year sections of the official State Department of Education budget document.
15. Maintain cash receipts and disbursements control by source of funds/account. 
16. Maintain cash flow records by bank/account
17. Affect receipt of tax requisitions from municipality 
18. Open/close bank accounts, make deposits, process wire transfers, maintain documentation per transaction. 
19. Control activities in the Trust and Agency, Petty Cash, and School General Accounts and Special Projects.?
