Teacher of Science (Special Education)

SPECIAL EDUCATION SCIENCE TEACHER 
2023-2024 school year

 Requirements: 

• New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certificate required
• New Jersey Certification in Biology, Chemistry or Physics required
• Knowledge and use of Instructional Technology
• Knowledge of Next Generation Science Standards 
• Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills

• To teach high school science courses across in-class support and resource settings
• Promoting high standards and expectations for student achievement
• Collaborating with co-teachers on curriculum, assessment and instruction to facilitate the most productive environment possible for each student’s learning needs
• Adjusting instruction, materials, and/or assessments to meet the diverse needs of students
• Maintaining a classroom environment that promotes student learning
• Using innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn
• Providing meaningful assessments and feedback to students
• Analyzing student assessment results to help guide instruction
• Maintaining accurate records of student achievement
• Communicating regularly with student and parents regarding progress
• Attending IEP meetings to communicate student progress and goals
