Teacher of Health Sciences Leave Replacement

Position Overview:
The Health Sciences Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in health-related subjects, preparing students for careers or further education in the healthcare field. This role involves developing lesson plans, assessing student performance, and integrating real-world healthcare concepts into the classroom. The teacher may also coordinate clinical experiences or certifications if applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in health sciences (e.g., anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, public health, healthcare systems).

• Teach courses in areas such as healthcare careers, patient care, medical ethics, and safety procedures.

• Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, projects, and/or practical assessments.

• Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in healthcare and integrate them into your instruction.

• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.

• Incorporate technology and multimedia tools into instruction when appropriate.

• Prepare students for certifications, standardized exams, or post secondary education in health sciences.
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Nursing, Education, or a related field.

• Teaching certification or certificate of eligibility (#4124).

• Background knowledge and/or experience in healthcare or medical fields.
