ANTICIPATED EDUCATIONAL SIGN-LANGUAGE INTERPRETER

Start Date:  November 1, 2026

Qualifications:

• Valid NJ DOE Educational Interpreter - Sign Language Interpreting (3463) Certificate, or eligibility
• Associate’s degree preferred.  Minimum high school diploma with required 15 semester hour credits of professional education coursework
• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a minimum score of 3
• Two years’ experience in interpreting preferred
• Required criminal history background, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status, physical  examination and other required paperwork

Job Goal:

Facilitate communication between deaf or hard of hearing individuals on diverse topics, and under varying situations, by performing sign language, cued speech, and/or oral interpreting.

Terms of Employment:  Full Time, 10 months

Pay Rate:  $52,078 (minimum for 26-27 SY)
