Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton, New Jersey—an independent, Catholic, all-girls PS–12 Sacred Heart school dedicated to educating the whole child and inspiring young women to lead lives of exceptional leadership and service—is seeking Head and Assistant Volleyball Coaches for the Upper School for the 2026–27 academic year.
These are seasonal, stipend-based positions. Compensation is based on a candidate’s education, years of experience, skill set, and internal equity.
Upper School Volleyball – Coaching Details
Season: August 17- November 20th
Practice Schedule: Monday–Friday, generally 3:30–5:30 PM
Games: Mostly weekday afternoons; occasional later commitments may be required
Weekends: Minimal
Stipend Range: $4,000–$6,500
Head Volleyball Coach – Position Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, the Head Volleyball Coach leads the Upper School volleyball program. The coach is responsible for player development, practice planning, game strategy, communication, and overall team leadership. Candidates must demonstrate strong sportsmanship and uphold the mission and values of Stuart.
Responsibilities
- Plan and run daily practices during the season
- Coach all games and competitions
- Develop athletes’ technical skills, game awareness, and teamwork
- Model and promote positive sportsmanship and respect
- Maintain clear communication with student-athletes, families, and the Athletic Department
- Attend required school athletic events as assigned
Qualifications
- Significant volleyball coaching experience, ideally with high school–aged athletes
- Experience working in a school environment and coaching female athletes preferred
- Ability to commit to the full practice, game, and event schedule
- Strong communication, mentorship, and leadership skills
Assistant Volleyball Coach – Position Overview
The Assistant Volleyball Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of team operations and athlete development.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and leading practices
- Coach and support athletes during games
- Provide individualized instruction and feedback
- Promote teamwork, program values, and a positive team environment
- Attend all practices, games, and team events
Qualifications
- Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals; prior coaching or playing experience preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the Head Coach and Athletics staff
- Reliability and commitment to the full season schedule
- Enthusiasm for mentoring young women in athletics
