Special Education Teacher at The Arc of Essex County

Job Summary:

Special Education Preschool Teacher to provide classroom instruction, in a nurturing therapeutic environment in conjunction with student’s IEP’s and the NJ Preschool Standards.

Collaborate with child study team members and teacher assistants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• IEP Compliance
• Implementation of New Jersey Preschool Standards

• Health and Safety of students
• Weekly lesson plan submission
• Parent communication

Requirements:

•  New Jersey T.O.S.D and Prek-3 Certification or New Jersey T.O.H certificate required.

 Education / Work Experience / Skills:

• Experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or special needs preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Positive team player

The Arc of Essex County is a non-profit organization that provides services and programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Our corporate office is located in Livingston, NJ and we have programs throughout Essex County.

The Arc of Essex County’s Stepping Stones School is a Department of Education approved private school for students with disabilities, serving children ages 3-10. Located in Roseland, NJ, the school is designed to meet the developmental and educational needs of children with cognitive impairments such as Down Syndrome, and other children with similar educational and developmental needs.
