Susan Burman

With over 30 years of private/public sector Human Resources experience, Susan Burman is currently the Manager of Human Resources for the Livingston Public School District in Livingston, New Jersey. Ms. Burman served on the Board of Education for the Warren Township Public Schools (2006-2013) and chaired both the negotiation and personnel committees during that time. She also served as a member of the Advisory Board for The London Day School in Florham Park, NJ, providing guidance on HR and policy. Ms. Burman, who began her career at the American Arbitration Association, and believes in the ability of parties to help facilitate their own conflict resolution, is trained as a Mediator through the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM).

In addition to her full-time job, Ms. Burman has also prepared expert witness reports and provided testimony in employment and legal matters. Most recently, Ms. Burman was elected Chair of the Scholarship Committee of CJPRIDE (https://cjpride.com/), a consortium of New Jersey school districts committed to the identification, recruitment, hiring and retention of diverse educators.

Ms. Burman earned both her Master of Arts (MA) in Industrial & Labor Relations and her Masters in Human Resources Management (MHRM) from Rutgers University.
