Description HVAC:

JOB OVERVIEW:
HVAC Technician / Maintenance is responsible for maintaining and repairing all district heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment. Specific duties include but not limited to; repairing, rebuilding, and replacing bearings, motors, heat exchangers, air conditioning compressors, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

REQUIREMENT AND QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid NJ driver’s license.
Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.
Possess a Black Seal License or must obtain one within one (1) year of employment.
Ability to perform tasks relating to other industry trades preferred (ie: electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
Refrigeration and air conditioning equipment knowledge preferred.
Three (3) years of experience in HVAC service and repairs preferred.
Preferred holder of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and/or Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Universal license – or willing to obtain.
Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair on HVAC/R systems. Demonstrate problem solving skills.
Operate grounds equipment; plow trucks, snow blowers, riding lawn equipment, or willing to learn.
Focused on safety and security of district staff and students a must.

SALARY, EMPLOYMENT PERIOD AND UNION AFFILIATION:

Twelve (12) months, non tenureable position.
