  3. Position is associated with the terms and conditions of the negotiated Agreement between the Educational Association of Paramus (EAP) and the Board of Education.
   
Reports To: Principal, Vice Principal and Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts
   
Job Goal(s): The middle school music teacher position includes directing two middle school bands, after school honors ensembles, teaching small group lessons, organizing and directing performances for various school concerts and community events throughout the year, and participating in County and Region Band programs and festivals.
 
  1. To provide small and large group instruction to students involved in the grades 5-8 middle school band program;
  2. Builds a school and classroom culture in which students gain an interest in and appreciation for music and the arts;
  3. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of established NJSLS and district curriculum goals and implements a variety of teaching and assessment techniques (including formative and summative) to ensure student achievement and engagement;
  4. Collaborates regularly with the Pre-K-Grade 12 professional learning community to promote cohesiveness and unity within the program.
   
Qualifications:
  1. New Jersey Teacher of Music, K-12 certification
  2. Strong background in Instrumental Music Education and Conducting
  3. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage large ensembles and teach small-group lessons on all band instruments.
   
Salary: Placement on the Education Association of Paramus (EAP) Salary Guide, considering experience and related qualifications
